WHAT IS SKIP DEPOSIT?


When renting a home, it is customary that you transfer an amount of deposit to the landlord after signing the lease. The amount of this amount is often 3x the monthly rent, and is used to pay rent arrears and any damage to the rental property after termination of the contract. Because moving is always an expensive business, this is often an undesirable but necessary cost item for tenants. Skip Deposit represents a new way of renting in which we say goodbye to the traditional deposit. With Skip Deposit, the tenant keeps his own money available for the move, for example, because our fee is a lot lower than the deposit.

In addition, Skip Deposit is an independent link between tenant and landlord, and we ensure that the termination of the lease is settled in a transparent manner.


How does it work?

 As a tenant, you have the duty to return the home clean and in its original condition after termination of the lease. The landlords we work with will prepare an inspection report in advance with clear photos of the property you have rented. After leaving the house, the landlord will carry out a final inspection and add photos of the house to the inspection report upon termination. In case of damage, the landlord will file the claim with us. Skip Deposit will assess whether the claim is justified on the basis of the inspection report. If the photos show that the house has not been delivered as agreed, we will proceed to pay out the damage amount up to a maximum of 3x the monthly rent. We will then talk to you to recover the damage. With Skip Deposit, discussions about deposit deductions are a thing of the past.

COSTS SKIP DEPOSIT


The costs of the digital security certificate depend on the amount of the monthly rent. At the start of the rental we charge a one-off amount, and an annual fee for each year that you live in the house.


The tenant pays:

- one-off closing costs: € 150, -

- the annual fee: 5% of 'the monthly rent times 3'


Calculation example annual fee - for a house with rental costs € 900 per month:
- Rent € 900 x 3 = € 2700

- Fee 5% of € 2700 = € 135 per year
